Acting Premier and Minister for Trade and Investment Andrew Stoner has announced almost $500,000 in funding for five new interactive media projects which will further develop NSW’s emerging world-class digital media industry.

17 Jan 13 | Aurora Script Workshop advisors 2013

Screen NSW is pleased to confirm local and international advisors for Aurora 2013.

Local advisors Keith Thompson (co-writer of The Sapphires and Head of Development at Goalpost) and Richard Roxburgh (actor, theatre director, film director [Romulus My Father], and co-creator of Rake), will join guest Creative Director, Meg Lefauve, and guest advisor, Paul Mezey for the Screen NSW Aurora script workshops for 2013.

17 Jan 13 | Screen NSW supported features to screen at Berlin International Film Festival

Australian feature film The Rocket will have its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in February 2013 in Generation, the section devoted to children and young people. It will be joined by Indigenous feature Satellite Boy, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

A new business facilitation program has been announced by Screen Australia as part of the Enterprise suite of programs. Over the next two years, Enterprise Asia will support Australian screen businesses to travel to key Asian territories including Malaysia, Korea and China, and present projects they have in development or production.

07 Feb 13 | Digital Kitchen @ Metro Screen

Digital Kitchen is Metro Screen’s Development Funding for interactive transmedia projects or games and provides a cash grant for three to five emerging developers to mature their interactive projects beyond concept stage to a ‘ripe for investment' or market ready level. The grants must be used by successful applicants to assist with the costs of expertise that will address shortfalls in their project’s development to a market ready stage.

Sundance Institute has announced that Coral: Rekindling Venus, a full-dome film and augmented reality presentation featured in the 2013 edition of New Frontier at the Sundance Film Festival, will screen at 14 full-dome planetariums throughout the United States during the Festival, January 17-27.

26 Jan 13 | Yabun Festival 2013

The Yabun Festival will present some of Australia’s best Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander music from around the country, in 2013. Presented by Koori Radio 93.7FM the Yabun Festival started in 2003, and is held annually on 26 January. It is the largest single day Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander festival drawing an audience of between 20,000 and 25,000.
