29 May 13 | Working With Children Checks

If filming requires you to work with children (paid or unpaid), you may be required to have a Working With Children Check. A Check involves a national criminal history check and a review of relevant workplace misconduct records and a new Working With Children Check will start on 15 June 2013.

Northern Rivers screenwriter Jon Bell (The Gods of Wheat Street, Redfern Now) has launched the Northern NSW Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Screenwriters Workshop in Lismore, NSW, and talked about increasing opportunities in the screen industry for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander storytellers.

20 May 13 | Dead Europe wins NSW Premier's Literary Award for Script Writing

Screen NSW congratulates Louise Fox who won the NSW Premier's Literary Award for Script Writing for feature film Dead Europe.

The Betty Roland Prize of $30,000 for Script Writing is offered annually for the screenplay of a feature-­length fiction film, for the script of a documentary film, for the script of a play or documentary for radio, or for the script of a television program (whether fiction or non-­fiction).
