01 Jul 14 | Legislation of amendments to the Film and Television Office Act

Amendments to the Film and Television Office Act (1988) have been passed by the NSW Parliament and take effect from 1 July 2014. The amendments arise from a whole of government review of agencies in NSW and reform the governance of Screen NSW. The operations of Screen NSW remain unchanged.

17 Jun 14 | $311 million for NSW arts, culture & screen sectors

A $311 million Arts budget for 2014-15 was recently delivered by the NSW Liberals and Nationals Government. 

Screen NSW will receive nearly $10 million to support the development production of screen projects in NSW, and market NSW as Australia’s premier screen production destination.

10 Jun 14 | Sydney’s tallest residential tower home to $25 million creative hub

A $25 million state-of-the-art creative hub featuring dance, theatre, music, film and visual arts facilities will be built in the heart of the city following an agreement between the City of Sydney and property developer Greenland Australia.

01 Jul 14 | Good Pitch2 Australia selects seven feature documentaries

Seven Australian documentaries – each with a powerful agenda for social impact and change – have been chosen to participate in Good Pitch² Australia.

Good Pitch², the international documentary forum devised by BRITDOC and Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program, has been brought to Australia in 2014 for the first time by Ian Darling’s Shark Island Institute in partnership with Documentary Australia Foundation and will take place at the Sydney Opera House, 8 October 2014.
