Minister for the Arts, Troy Grant, has announced the appointment of the new Film and Television Industry Advisory Committee as part of the NSW Government’s ongoing commitment to the industry.

01 Aug 14 | AURORA open for applications

Aurora is Screen NSW's premium feature film development program. Since its inception in 2002, Aurora has attracted acclaimed Australian and international filmmakers as advisors and participants in the program, and has identified major new Australian filmmaking talent. In 2014/15 Aurora is again offered as a high level workshop with script development funding. Up to four outstanding projects and talented teams will be selected for a focused and accelerated development process over a period of five months, incorporating a week‘s intensive workshop process with world class development advisors, and a follow up marketplace workshop and script reading.

Screen Producers Australia has announced a significantly enhanced suite of services to the industry including a series of new precedent template agreements for contracting and a new system permitting access for the first time to recently renegotiated key industrial agreements.

29 Aug 14 | Indigenous screenwriters award: Kate Challis RAKA Award call for entries

The Australian Centre is pleased to announce that the Kate Challis RAKA Award is now open. 

The 2014 award of $20,000 (approx) will be offered to the best script for film or television presented in the preceding five years by an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

The first footage from George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road starring Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron has just been released by Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow. Mad Max: Fury Road is proudly supported by the NSW Government. The film is slated for US release 15 May 2015. Watch the trailer here
