20 Sep 14 | NSW Government announces support for sydney-based feature film

NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism and Major Events Andrew Stoner has announced support from Destination NSW for the Sydney-based filming of Ruben Guthrie, the screen adaptation of Brendan Cowell’s acclaimed stage play. This is in addition to support for the project through the Screen NSW Production Finance Fund.

25 Sep 14 | $568,000 for industry and audience development

The NSW Government is investing in the next generation of filmmakers and script writers so they can capture the stories of our diverse communities.

Minister for the Arts, Troy Grant, has announced that nearly $568,000 has been granted to 18 organisations across the State to support professional development projects, as well as 26 public screenings, festivals or tours to take quality screen productions to a wider audience.

Screenrights is now offering a new disbursement service for the Australian production industry. This new service has been established to fill the important role previously offered by Screen Australia and the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC), who had been providing this service, but are no longer taking on new titles and, in the case of the SAFC, will no longer be active in this area.

Applications are now open for Screenwise’s Diploma of Screen Acting. The Diploma is Australia’s only two year full-time, government accredited comprehensive creative and technical screen acting program. The course is VET FEE-HELP approved. Initial application is through the Screenwise website with a second stage interview and audition.
