Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts Troy Grant has announced Academy Award®-winners Cate Blanchett (The Aviator and Blue Jasmine) and Robert Redford (All is Lost) are set to make their new film, Truth, in Sydney.

08 Oct 14 | NSW Government to invest in Sydney-filmed thriller starring Teresa Palmer

Australian actor and rising international star, Teresa Palmer, will film her latest project in Sydney. The ‘what if?’ thriller, 2:22, will be made with investment from the NSW Government. Minister for the Arts, Troy Grant, said the film was one of four new film and television projects to be supported by Screen NSW.

Bushwhacked!, the successful children's TV format by Mint Pictures, has been short-listed for the Association of International Broadcasting awards in London.

Series two of the thirteen-part kids wildlife-meets-Indigenous series is up against six competitors for best factual program for kids, including Deadly Pole to Pole by the BBC.

15 Nov 14 | 2015 Diploma of Screen Acting - Applications Now Open

Applications are now open for Screenwise’s Diploma of Screen Acting. The Diploma is Australia’s only two year full-time, government accredited comprehensive creative and technical screen acting program. The course is VET FEE-HELP approved. Initial application is through the Screenwise website with a second stage interview and audition.

Sydney Film Festival 2015 is now taking submissions through FilmFestivalLife online. Submissions close on 27 February 2015.

The festival will run 3 - 14 June 2015 across Sydney. 2015 marks the 45th year of the Festival presenting its Australian short film competition, making it the oldest short film competition in Australia.

21 Oct 14 | Love Is Now confirmed for nationwide Hoyts Cinemas release

Eponine Films has announced that Love is Now, starring Australian actors Eamon Farren (Chained, Red Dog, Carlotta), Claire Van Der Boom (The Square, Red Hill, Hawaii Five-0) and Anna Torv (The Secret Life of Us, Fringe) will be released in Australian cinemas nationwide on 4th December 2014.
