01 Feb 15 | Arab Film Festival Australia Co-Director appointed to NSW Film & TV Industry Advisory Committee

Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts, Troy Grant, has welcomed the appointment of Ms Mouna Zaylah, Co-Director of the Arab Film Festival Australia, to the NSW Film and Television Industry Advisory Committee. Ms Zaylah’s three-year term started on 1 January, 2015.

02 Feb 15 | 2:22 commences principal photography in Sydney

Michiel Huisman (Game of Thrones, Wild) will star opposite Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies, upcoming Point Break) in the romantic thriller 2:22. Principal photography is set to commence on 2 February 2015 in Sydney.

Sydney Film Festival’s Travelling Film Festival will have monthly screenings at Casula Powerhouse from Friday 6th February, opening with The Theory of Everything, by Academy Award winner James Marsh. The film is a biopic on the world's favourite theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking and his ex-wife Jane Wilde Hawking.

09 Feb 15 | Arts and Disability Project Funding call for entries

Funding between $20,000 and $60,000 is available to support professional arts projects for people with disability in NSW.

Arts and cultural organisations, disability organisations, partnerships and groups are eligible apply. The funding will support projects that increase the involvement of people with disability in arts and cultural activities. The funding aims to improve social outcomes for people with disability.

Sydney Film Festival 2015 is now taking submissions through FilmFestivalLife online. Submissions close on 27 February 2015.

The festival will run 3 - 14 June 2015 across Sydney. 2015 marks the 45th year of the Festival presenting its Australian short film competition, making it the oldest short film competition in Australia.
