Synopsis

The Quiet Discomfort Series, is a suite of five VR experiences which use the platform to creatively explore five issues affecting contemporary Australia: violence towards women, depression, passive racism, homophobia and addiction. The first in this series is The Sound of Violence which takes the user into a domestic environment to both witness and be empowered to help a female victim and her four-year-old child. The Quiet Discomfort will be Urban Theatre Projects’ third screen-based work and the company’s first foray into VR — the perfect vantage point for a company that seeks to activate empathy and shift perceptions.
