The Blue Tin
|Project||The Blue Tin|
|Company||Country Road Films Pty Ltd.|
|Producer||David Jowsey, Gillian Moody|
The Blue Tin is a love story of the most terrible kind. It tells the story of two Aboriginal parents, Leila and Arthur Murray, whose love sustained them over many decades as they took on the world, to try to win justice for their murdered son, Eddie, who died in a lonely police cell in the small cotton town of Wee Waa, NSW 1980. It’s the story of a joyous family life and vicious racism, of trying to survive in a world that seems to want to block you at every turn, even when it feigns sympathy, and finally it’s the story of hope that love can unlock even the hardest of hearts and the most brutally oppressive systems.
