The varied authentic locations of the region include the industrial and historic backdrop of Broken Hill, the ghost town of Silverton, sheep stations, the rippling waters of the Menindee Lakes and Darling River, native flora and fauna of Kinchega, lunar landscapes of White Cliffs opal fields, the Walls of China in Mungo National Park and the rugged rock ranges of Mutawintji and the host of the 5th largest studio space in Australia, the Broken Hill Studios.
Broken Hill has an impressive pedigree with over 30 years of production experience. The region has played host to over fifty feature films, television productions as well as hundreds of television commercials and print campaigns. Credits include the Australian classics of Mad Max II, The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Dirty Deeds, as well as large international productions such as Mission Impossible II. For an outback location it is well serviced by road, rail and air and has all the service infrastructure a crew would require – be it large or small.
