    SLATE LOAN FUND

Screen NSW provides development loans to key NSW production companies with a proven commitment to production in the State through its Slate Loan Fund.

    MINOR CASHFLOW LOAN

Screen NSW provides Minor Cashflow Loans to eligible screen productions where it is also providing finance. The aim is to assist projects with a cash-flow requirement during the important period leading up to production or to cashflow the costs of delivery to a domestic broadcaster. Strict eligibility and security requirements for loan applications are in place. These loans are provided for a stipulated period of time at an agreed rate of interest and must be secured against a portion of the licence fee with a domestic broadcaster. Minor cashflow loans are capped at $100K.

    PRODUCTION LOAN FINANCE FUND

Screen NSW provides Production Loan Finance to fully financed productions receiving production investment from Screen NSW. Strict eligibility and security requirements for loan applications are in place. Loans are provided for a stipulated period of time at an agreed rate of interest.

Funds provided as loans are secured by a distribution guarantee or presale agreement together with other security requirements as determined by Screen NSW. The amount of the loan will be a portion of the domestic presale or distribution guarantee. Screen NSW requires that the balance be cashflowed into production by the broadcaster or distributor under the terms of its agreement in advance of the first Screen NSW loan drawdown.

Typically, loans will be for more than $150,000 and capped at $400,000.

The following projects are eligible to apply for Production Loan Finance:

    -  feature films

    -  factual programs and series

    -
television drama and telemovies

    -  children’s live action series.

Production Loan Finance applications are also assessed by an external Credit Analyst, who then provides confidential reports to Screen NSW management.

All loans are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Producers considering a loan application should first check eligibility and security requirements directly with the Business Affairs Manager on 02 9995 0555.

All guidelines should be read in conjunction with the Screen NSW Terms of Trade.

All loan applications are assessed by Screen NSW management.

Please allow at least 4-6 weeks from receipt by Screen NSW of all required assessment materials for a decision.

The Screen NSW Board considers recommendations by management but will make its own decisions about funding applications and the level of funding. Reasons for decisions will be provided for unsuccessful applications. Applications that are declined by Screen NSW may not be re-submitted for any funding unless there is a significant change to the proposal.
