In 2008, the Premier of NSW issued Memorandum No.2008-10, 'Making NSW Film Friendly'. This binds State Agencies and Authorities to the Film Friendly principles, to ensure that:

• there is a responsive and cooperative attitude in dealing with filming requests;
• applications for access are processed promptly
• access to locations are supported wherever possible and are not unreasonably withheld;
• clear reasons for refusal are provided, and alternative arrangements for sites offered if possible;
• fees are kept to a minimum and only reflect costs.

The Premier's Memorandum came into effect in June 2008.
