08 Oct 08 | FTO's Emerging Filmmakers Fund - Turning Screen Dreams...
In a shift in emphasis to better build career-paths in the NSW screen industry, the FTO's long-running Young Filmmakers Fund program (YFF) will in future target 'emerging' rather than 'young' filmmakers.
Renamed the
Emerging Filmmakers Fund, the program now has no upper age limit. Instead, preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate their commitment to a career in screen content creation.
"The FTO is committed to working with the industry to identify career development pathways for talented practitioners and to develop a practical, active and informed community. We encourage exploration, experimentation and mastery of new technologies, a variety of financing models and different business approaches. The shift to an Emerging Filmmakers Fund reflects this strategic approach," said Linda Tizard, Head of Development and Investment at the FTO.
In each round, a maximum of four successful projects will receive grants of up to $30,000 for production and/or pproduction.
Applications for the Emerging Filmmakers Fund close on November 3.
