The Daughter selected for Toronto and Venice

Producers Jan Chapman and Nicole O'Donohue are delighted that Simon Stone's debut feature, The Daughter, has been selected as Closing Night for Venice Days and as a Special Presentation at the Toronto Film Festival.

“We had enormous support from Screen NSW in the development of the project and in finding locations in NSW. The film was shot at Camden and in the Tumut, Batlow region. We pay tribute to our dedicated crew and our gifted ensemble cast of Geoffrey Rush, Ewen Leslie, Paul Schneider, Miranda Otto, Anna Torv with Odessa Young and Sam Neill,” they told Screen NSW.

“We really welcome this opportunity to share our film with audiences and industry representatives in these prestigious festivals.”

Screen NSW supported the film that had its International Premiere during the Sydney Film Festival in June.

The Daughter, which has already met with much critical acclaim, is a contemporary portrait about a family's dysfunction, deception and denial, played out in a potent drama.
