Asian Animation Summit-2020

Screen NSW is partnering with the Asian Animation Summit (AAS) offering up to two new NSW projects to present at the 2020 virtual Summit.

In 2020 the AAS will be held online over three weeks, Monday to Thursday, between November 16 to December 4.

What is the Asian Animation Summit?

AAS offers a unique showcase of new animated children’s series seeking finance and production partners in the Asia-Pacific region.

The AAS offers a unique opportunity for two NSW animation producers to showcase their work among their peers from Australia, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and elsewhere in the Asia-Pacific, to seek co-production partners and to pitch their work to a select group of international broadcasters and decision-makers.

Asian, European, UK and North American broadcasters and distributors participate in the AAS looking for the best new projects from the region. The event has consistently proved itself to be an excellent platform for Australian producers to find investors and production partners.

The Co-Development Initiative opportunity will again be offered in 2020. This initiative is to help earlier-stage projects take their next creative steps more successfully. During the ASS event, there will be a curated series of short presentations of projects looking for like-minded development partners in the region. Applicants can apply for this opportunity within the same application form. Please note that there are separate eligibility criteria for the co-development initiative.

You can apply via SmartyGrants here.

To apply you will need to meet the Asian Animation Summit Showcase Project Eligibility Criteria or Co-Development Eligibility Criteria and submit an executed Presentation Waiver with your application form.

Applications close Monday 14 September at 11:00pm.

Selected projects will be creatively exciting, and preference will be given to partially-funded projects over those still in development.
