SBS & NITV: Meet The Broadcasters Pitching Session 2019

As part of ‘Meet the Broadcaster’, SBS and NITV are offering a unique opportunity for filmmakers to participate in a speed pitching event with the decision makers from the Scripted and Unscripted teams. 

The pitching session will take place at the SBS offices in Artarmon, on Tuesday 27 August between 1pm - 3pm. Pitch meetings will be 15 minutes each.

The teams receiving pitches will be:

  • NITV
  • SBS Unscripted
  • SBS Scripted

What are they looking for?

NITV are looking for bold, brave storytelling from Indigenous filmmakers and Indigenous production companies. NITV is interested in pitches from emerging and established Indigenous filmmakers working in documentary, factual entertainment, online and children’s programming.  More detailed information on NITV commissioning guidelines can be found here:

SBS Unscripted will be taking pitches for Documentaries, Food and Entertainment:

Please note that SBS Unscripted does not commission natural history, travel or lifestyle programs. 

SBS Scripted will be taking pitches for bold dramas that sustain 4 hours of television. SBS encourage thought-provoking ideas that push boundaries, align with the SBS Charter, and off cross-platform opportunities. They do not commission sketch comedy or half hour programs. What do I need to submit?

You should submit

  • an application form outlining contact details, project title, genre, format, themes and a synopsis for each pitch you intend to present during your meeting
  • How your project aligns with the SBS Charter
  • A current CV

How is my application assessed?

Applications will be assessed by staff at SBS and NITV.

Completing the application

  • Remember to save the form on a regular basis
  • Applications MUST be submitted prior to midnight of the closing date

NSW based screen practitioners.

We are committed to representation from all parts of the community and encourage submissions from people from under-represented groups including women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds, people with disability, LGBTIQ people, people from outside metropolitan areas.

Successful applicants must be available to attend the pitching session on Tuesday 27, August between 1 - 3pm.
