The Emerging Producer Placement Program is an opportunity for emerging producers to gain fast-tracked experience working at both Screen NSW and local production companies.
Screen NSW is looking for the next wave of emerging producers.
The Emerging Producer Placement Program will provide emerging producers with a paid placement opportunity to gain unique experience. Firstly, by working alongside the Screen NSW Sector Investment team, and then with NSW screen production companies. This is a fast-track career opportunity that matches highly experienced screen industry practitioners with undiscovered emerging production talent.
Up to three placements will be offered in the 2025/26 round.
The first placement will begin in early 2026 with the dates to be mutually agreed by both parties. The additional placements will begin later in 2026.
Participants spend 52 days (usually 4 days per week/13 weeks) at Screen NSW and 52 days (usually 4 days per week/13 weeks) at a NSW production company.
The entire placement (including the period at the production company) must be completed within 12 months of commencement at Screen NSW.

Screen NSW staff are available to provide technical advice and general information to potential applicants on the interpretation of these guidelines, including the types of activity eligible for funding and support with the online application process.
Screen NSW staff cannot help directly with your application. To maintain a fair and equitable process, staff cannot edit or correct any applications or provide advice on the content or choices required against the Assessment Criteria.

Once your application has been submitted, you will receive an email confirmation from our secure online grants system, SmartyGrants.
Late application requests will be reviewed and eligibility determined with absolute discretion by the Industry and Audience Development Manager, Screen NSW. You must lodge a request for a late application by email to [email protected] setting out the reasons for the request, along with any evidence, by 3pm on the day applications close.
Applications will be assessed for eligibility, and a longlist will be provided to a panel of Screen NSW staff for assessment, including the Industry and Audience Development Manager and a representative from the Sector Investment team (Screen). Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview, and subsequent recommendations will be considered by the Head of Screen NSW.
Your application will be assessed on your experience and expression of interest relating to the selection criteria.
Successful applicants will be notified via email by 1 December 2025.
